A Garden Room
Marie, one of our top designers, and her husband Antony wanted our team to take on this project. What though did Marie have in mind? From day to day at the office different products come to light and one caught Marie’s eye, a different approach to a warm tiled roof. Warm tiled roofs are usually made from aluminium framing; it helps to keep the roof weight down. With all the insulation parts having to be cut on site to fit, it adds work for the lads. This new product, all the roof parts come as complete panels with the insulation already cut to size. The fact that it is framed out with wood makes it easier to cut round obstacles and its natural. Marie and Antony’s home has a chimney on the outside wall that had to be worked round, see photos. (Click on the images to open the viewer)
The old conservatory needed to be removed, the side walls built up with block then faced with bricks. Each corner of the new room was built up to take the weight of the new roof. There was a lot of work involved. Stuart, Chad and Dan picked up the pace with a little help from Tony too.
Fitting The Windows & Doors
While finishing the intricate roof details the rest of the team was always busy. You’ll see in the next gallery the overlap of work going on, new light weight tiles, windows & door frames, flooring plus insulation. There would also be the finishing work to do including boarding and plastering the walls.
Marie and Antony chose woodgrain Anthracite Grey windows and doors with white internally. One of the ideas Marie had, apart from enjoying her new room, was also to be able to invite possible customers to see the finished products. Brownie points for the Perfect Choice teams and their workmanship!
The Finished Garden Room
Marie and the family have been enjoying their new space for some months now, here is a few of the reasons…
We now have a space that can be open to the rest of the house, a place that has many different roles. A space for the boys and their friends, we can shut the door… whether we shut ourselves in or out it’s relaxing and adds so much to our home.
