We discover many talented people in our line of work and as a result we are be able to be part of their ongoing renovations. Esme and Tony are such a couple, so this is about a beautiful home designed and built by them. The timeless R7 woodgrain windows and doors plus matching fascia can be found in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire.
Making the Change to R7 Woodgrain – Why?
Well I’m going to let them do the talking..
We decided to change our windows because it was becoming obvious that the wooden frames we had installed were going to take a lot of maintenance. The upper windows at the back of the house had been painted, repainted and touched up and needed doing again. We live on a hill so towers or scaffolding were needed. It was also obvious that some of the other woodwork needed attention. Maintenance free PVC seemed a good alternative. In the past PVC came in white or brown but now apparently various colours were being offered.
As you look through the before pictures below you will understand why the colour choices were so important to them. As well as offering a low maintenance solution they discovered the beauty, quality and lasting nature of R7.
A quick check on local suppliers showed that many did windows but few did fascia as well. A neighbour suggested we look at Perfect Choice which we did. One of the products offered was the Residence 7 style which was a look we liked (textured woodgrain finish, squared corners) but of course came at extra cost. A quick look at the alternatives decided us that Residence 7 was worth the money.
As Esme and Tony went through the design process they also chose to have large picture windows in the bedrooms and lounge. This allowed them to enjoy the view without interruption.
The Perfect Choice Experience
Throughout the pandemic there have been supply issues with glass and other building materials. However our customers have been patient as we can see from Esme and Tony’s next comments….
The installation went smoothly despite problems with availability. After installation there was a follow up to make sure we were happy and this care has continued. The Fascia and Windows were done as separate projects. The teams were efficient, thorough and tidied up behind them. We’ve got them coming back soon to add Glass balustrades to our deck!
